About
Pumpkin is a large gourd-family fruit with a firm rind. It is grown outdoors and harvested in autumn.

Pumpkin has dense flesh with a sweetish flavour. It is roasted, boiled for purée soups, stewed and used in baking. Pumpkin goes into porridges and pie fillings.
