About

Blackcurrant is a garden berry with thin dark skin, juicy flesh and a distinctive aroma. The small round berries grow in clusters and become almost black as they ripen.

    Evidence

The indicative period is based on a Leningrad Oblast official reporting series that lists blackcurrant separately: the crop is absent from the early-July 2022 snapshot, cumulative harvest reached 11.5 t by 10 August, and the figure was unchanged by 19 August. Commercial relevance is additionally supported by 2023 data. There is no direct harvest-start statement, so the start is reconstructed conservatively as early August. Peak is unset.
