About
Gooseberry is a garden berry with firm skin and juicy flesh. Depending on the cultivar the fruit may be green, yellow or reddish, sometimes lightly hairy and sometimes smooth.
In the kitchen
Gooseberries taste sweet-tart with a clear acidity. They are eaten fresh, cooked into jam and other preserves, used in drinks and desserts, and added to baking and sauces.
