Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus) is a low-growing perennial in the rose family. The soft aggregate fruit starts reddish and ripens to an amber-yellow, juicy berry. Fresh cloudberries taste distinctly tart and aromatic. The plant grows mainly in bogs, peatlands and other wet sites in northern and boreal forests.
Cloudberries are eaten fresh and used for jam, jelly, juices, sauces and desserts. Ripe berries are very soft and bruise easily, so they need careful handling. Their tartness and aroma suit both sweet dishes and sauces.

Cloudberry. 2026 order: from 11 July in the south and centre, from 18 July in the Arctic. Start 11 July; end 10 August is editorial (short fruiting; the order gives starts only). The Leningrad MK note that cloudberry is already leaving in late August is not copied here. No explicit peak: available sources do not justify a narrower window without false precision.
