Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) is a rose-family shrub with soft aggregate berries, usually red (sometimes yellow). The fruit is aromatic and bruises easily. Cultivation includes summer-bearing canes and remontant / primocane types with a later, often longer pick. The catalog keeps one culinary product without ProductVariant.
Raspberries are eaten fresh, cooked into jam and preserves, and used in desserts, drinks and freezing. Berries are delicate and travel poorly; picking is often daily in season. Remontant cultivars may fruit longer than summer types — regional seasons must account for that carefully.
